Sabine Parish Library Board August 2022 Minutes
Minutes
The Library Board of Trustees met on August 18, 2022, at 9:30a.m., for a special meeting. Present: Donna Ammons, Diann Migliore, Kenneth Ebarb, Bonnie Miles, Lorene Jones, and Paula Hardee. Absent: Sally Maxie. The meeting was called to order by President Donna Ammons. The agenda was amended on a motion by Bonnie Miles, seconded by Paula Hardee so that the Main Building Project could be moved to the top of the agenda.The Minutes of the previous meeting were accepted on a motion by Kenneth Ebarb, seconded by Diann Migliore.
The treasurer’s report was given and accepted on a motion by Diann Migliore and seconded by Paula Hardee. All voted in favor. Also discussed were the circulation and usage reports for the 2nd quarter of 2022.
Old Business:
The project to build a new Main Branch was discussed. Architects Wayne Coco and Chris Leigh were in attendance and reported that engineering plans are being prepared. They reported that flow tests are needed from the Parish Fire Department.
Also discussed were ideas for making the public aware that the Library Renewal Tax will be coming up on a ballot in November. The Librarian provided a list of dates scheduled for speaking engagements at community organizational meetings. The Librarian will present information on the Library System and the services provided.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned by a motion from Kenneth Ebarb and seconded by Lorene Jones.
